Discontinuation of Sofortüberweisung at Prepaid-Hoster

Why has Sofortüberweisung been deactivated as a payment method?

After months of unsuccessful attempts to contact Sofortüberweisung’s support and considering Klarna’s recent consolidation of this payment method, we have decided to permanently deactivate “Sofortüberweisung.” This change will take effect next week.

What does Klarna’s consolidation of Sofortüberweisung entail?

Klarna has acquired Sofortüberweisung and plans to discontinue it as a standalone payment method on November 29, 2024. In the future, Sofortüberweisung will only be available through Klarna’s partner providers.

Why is Klarna not being offered as an alternative payment method?

Due to the lack of support and our previous experiences with Sofortüberweisung, we have decided not to implement a future integration with Klarna at this time.

What alternative payment methods are available?

You can continue to use the traditional bank transfer with a customer reference number. Starting next week, we will also offer instant transfers, where your balance will be credited within 30 minutes of receiving the payment.

Can a test server be converted into a regular server?

Yes, it is possible to convert your test server into a regular KVM Root Server and continue using it. Here’s how it works.

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Remove cancellation:
    All test servers are automatically marked for cancellation. In order to convert the test server into a regular server, you must first remove this cancellation within the testing phase. You can do this through your customer account in the “Conditions & Configuration” section.
  2. Invoice generation:
    After the cancellation has been removed, an invoice for the server will be generated within 24 hours. You will be notified by email about the invoice generation.
  3. Pay the invoice:
    Pay the generated invoice to complete the conversion process. Once the payment is received, your test server will be converted into a fully functional KVM Root Server.

Benefits after the conversion:

  • Upgrades/Downgrades:
    After converting your test server into a regular server, upgrades and downgrades are possible. This was not possible during the testing phase. Now you can flexibly adjust CPU cores, RAM, and disk space according to your needs.
  • The server belongs to you:
    Congratulations! You have acquired your own server. We greatly appreciate your trust!
  • No commitment:
    You only use the server for as long as you need it. Don’t need your server anymore? No problem! Simply let it expire. No questions asked!

Frequently Asked Questions about converting the test server

  • Will I lose my testing time if I convert?
    No, the server will be extended by 30 days or one month. Your remaining testing time will not be lost.
  • Will my data be preserved?
    Yes, conversion is possible without restarting. Your data and settings will remain unchanged and seamlessly transferred.
  • Are upgrades and downgrades possible during the testing phase?
    No, upgrades or downgrades are not possible during the testing phase. This feature is only available after converting into a regular server.
  • How long does the conversion process take?
    The conversion process usually takes no longer than 24 hours after removing the cancellation and paying the invoice.
  • What happens if I don’t pay the invoice?
    If the invoice is not paid within the specified deadline, the server will remain in test mode and will be automatically cancelled at the end of the testing time.

How can I cancel my server immediately and receive a refund?

If you want to cancel your server immediately, it’s no problem with us. On the web interface, you have the option to return your server (starting 24 hours after your order). You will get a prorated refund for the remaining time of your server. Within the first 30 minutes after the order, you can return your server without any fees.

Which server can be canceled per second?

Cancelling per second is possible for the following servers:

  • KVM Configurable 2.0
  • KVM Configurable 3.0
  • Webhosting (Plesk)

Cancelling per second is not possible for the following services:

  • Dedicated Server
  • Smart Value Root Server (Packages)
  • Licenses

How can I cancel my server?

Log in to the web interface and find the server you want to cancel immediately in the navigation bar. Go to “Information”. Then click on “Cancellation Management”.


A new form will now open, where you can select “Delete immediately & receive remaining credit”. You will then see how much credit you will get back.

Fill out the form step by step:

  • Select “Immediate Cancellation”
  • Select a suitable cancellation reason
  • Rate this hosting
  • Rate your experience with the support
  • Select “I confirm that I want to cancel this service at the end of the term. I do not want a renewal”.
  • Click on “Confirm Cancellation”.

Now you just need to submit the cancellation. After a few seconds, we will have canceled the server and credited the remaining balance (remaining time) to your credit account. Please note that we charge a small fee for the cancellation.

How can credit be donated to me?

You run a project that can be financially supported by other members? Or does your friend want to give you some credit? No problem! With our donation link, you can receive credit.

Where can I find the donation link?

First, log in to the web interface.

Then scroll down to the bottom of the homepage in the customer area. You will find a box with the information about your donation link. Pretty hidden, right?

Can I change the displayed name?

Yes, you can! You just have to contact our support. We will then change the name on your donation page to a name of your choice. This way you can make sure that your “real name” does not have to be leaked.

Please note that donated credit can never be refunded or transferred to another user account.

Can I change the billing address?

Yes, you can change or determine the address on your invoices. If your current address or company name is incorrect, please first change your address in the web interface.

You can also directly specify a VAT ID there. This will be displayed on all subsequent invoices, along with the company name.

Adjust existing invoice

To change the address (including company name and VAT ID) on existing invoices, you need to briefly contact customer support. The address on existing invoices is not automatically changed if you modify it in the web interface due to legal regulations. An employee in the accounting department will take care of that for you.

Please note that we only update the address on top-up invoices. All other invoices have been paid with credit and are not suitable for your own accounting.

Why does my invoice not have VAT?

The invoices for our servers, domains and licenses are generally paid with your account credit. Since VAT is already charged when you top up your account, it is not charged on the service invoices. For this reason, no VAT will be shown on some of your invoices.

Therefore applies:

  • Top up credit: Value added tax shown
  • Buy/renew server: No VAT shown

(Where) can I get invoices with VAT?

Yes, when you make a transaction or top up your account balance, VAT will be shown and included on the corresponding invoice. You can download these invoices from the web interface at https://www.vionity.de/clientarea/my/transactions.

Overall, it is normal that invoices for our servers, domains and licenses do not include VAT, as this is already charged when you top up your credit.

How long is my credit valid?

If you load credit and do not use it, it will not lose its validity. You can use it at any time as long as you have an active account with us.

However, please note that according to the GDPR we may have to remove the data of inactive customer accounts. In this case, we would contact you by mail 30 days before deactivating your account.

Can I renew my server in advance?

Sadly, it is not possible to renew your server in advance. This is because our system would conflict with immediate server cancellations. If you want to cancel your server, you will get back the balance of the remaining term.

How is the renewal of my server done?

Your server will be renewed automatically if there are enough credits on your account 7 days before the expiration date. If there is not enough credit, the server will not be renewed and will be automatically cancelled after the expiration date. However, you can recharge your account at any time and extend the server by paying the invoice.

Can I change the billing cycle?

When ordering a server, you have to choose a billing cycle. Depending on the chosen duration, you will receive a price advantage.

Changing the cycle

If you want to change the cycle, you can do so by submitting a request to our support. A staff member will then change the cycle for you. Please note that the new cycle will only take effect from the next renewal.

Fees for Paysafecard

If you use Paysafecard to directly top up your account, a 13% fee will now be charged. The good news is that you can decide if this fee should be added to the transaction or deducted from your future balance. For example: if you want to add 50 Euro to your balance, you will either pay an additional fee of 6.50 Euro, bringing the total to 56.50 Euro, or you can opt to pay 50 Euro and receive a balance of 43.50 Euro.

In the past, we set all prices so that the fees charged by Paysafecard Wertkarten GmbH were covered by all customers. After 8 years, we decided not to pass these fees on to all customers in our service price calculations any longer. Only a small portion of our customers use Paysafecard for topping up. Thus, we believe this is a fair approach to continue offering fair pricing in the hosting industry.

If you prefer not to pay additional fees, you can use other payment methods like PayPal, instant bank transfer, credit card, or bank transfer to top up your balance.
